Closing Remarks

This has been an unprecedented year and we have all been forced to adapt to our ever-changing surroundings. Unfortunately, this meant that we were unable to have our annual symposium in-person as we always have. While this virtual symposium could not possibly replace the in-person symposium, it is our small way of showcasing and celebrating the AMAZING work that Somers Science Research Students have done this past year. We, as the instructors of the program, could not be more proud of all the students in the course who continue to WOW us with their efforts and accomplishments, even in the face of COVID-19 and the impacts it has had on our society. The passion that these students show for such a wide array of topics is inspiring and brings hope that we have such talented group of individuals pursuing their interests in STEM in a time when we need science to solve the world's problems more than ever. Have a wonderful summer and we cannot wait to see what amazing work students are able to complete during the summer months when we return to school in the Fall!

Sincerely,
William Maelia & Chrissy Lepkowski
